News You Need to Know

In a few short weeks, XSEDE will formally conclude operations, making way for ACCESS. There are exciting changes coming and the ACCESS team is working behind the scenes to prepare for the official launch on September 1, 2022.

Over the next few weeks, we will share important updates with you via this Advance to ACCESS weekly newsletter, which is a companion to the Advance to ACCESS website. The Advance to ACCESS website will always have the most current information: https://www.xsede.org/advancetoaccess.

Here are the important updates for this week:
General News

access-ci.org is live! The ACCESS Coordination Office is pleased to introduce the first iteration of our program website, featuring the ACCESS brand. Here you'll find helpful information to make a successful transition from XSEDE to ACCESS. Our full website will go live September 1, as ACCESS becomes fully operational. Stay tuned!

Allocations News

The ACCESS allocations team is preparing for our September start date, maybe you've seen us at one of our presentations to the community: Campus Champions meeting, the Service Provider Forum, the XSEDE Resource Allocation Committee, SURA, NSF ACCESS Town Hall, at PEARC22, and more. We encourage you to review the recent communication to Service Providers (available here) which provides important information about the following topics:

  1. Inviting you and your colleagues to join the ACCESS Allocation Review Committee
  2. Tiered Opportunities: Explore, Discover, Accelerate, Maximize
  3. The Allocations Marketplace

If you have any questions or comments on these materials, we welcome your input via our feedback form and we look forward to sharing more information in the coming months. Watch as the ACCESS website comes together this month as well. Stay tuned!

Support News

MATCH is actively seeking ACCESS Support Portal "beta" testers for a pre-launch testing period from August 15-19. Please use the contact form here to let us know you're interested. While ECSS will no longer continue, MATCH wants to spotlight the upcoming ECSS-like services of Match-Plus, (<6 months) short-term support for projects, and Match-Premier, 12+ month project support utilizing user funding. MATCH will provide coordination for both students and consultants during the project term. Watch this space for more details.
