Champions Region 7 Catalyzes Interactions with Inaugural Event

On Thursday March 26th, the Regional Champions program held its inaugural event at the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) in Holyoke, MA. A large percentage of Campus Champions from the region turned out for the event further validating the interest in the program as a whole. In addition to keynote speakers, panel sessions, and group discussions on specific topics, the group was treated to a spectacular tour of the MGHPCC data center which is a LEED Platinum certified facility.

This is the first in a series of regional events designed to strengthen collaboration and understanding of research in the individual geographic regions, as well as improve the scalability of the Champions Program. As the Champions Program has grown to over 250 members, it was necessary to refine the way interaction was handled between the Champions staff and the Champions community. The Regional Champions project was a direct result of this desire to continue to serve the community in the most effective manner possible.
