Contributors: Will Godsoe, National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS), University of Tennessee Abstract: These maps show where certain species of trees are likely to be found within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Blue areas represent places that are not suitable for the tree to grow. As the color goes from green to yellow to red it represents a more and more suitable environment for the tree, and thus a greater chance of seeing this tree in this area.
