The Stampede2 /home1 filesystem is back and system back in full operation.

The Stampede2 home filesystem remains partially offline with one of the four storage servers still unavailable. The storage hardware has been repaired but now the filesystem checks to ensure consistency of the data is taking much longer than anticipated. These filesystem checks need to complete before the system can be put back into full production so it will likely be some time Wednesday 8/24 before system is returned to service.

The Stampede2 home filesystem experienced a severe hardware error this morning on one of its four servers. The filesystem server is currently undergoing recovery and will remain offline until the recovery is complete. Based on current status, estimating approximately 7:00 PM Central Time on Tuesday August 23rd before the system will resume production operations. Users may experience session “hangs” when attempting to login or access files that reside on the offline server.
