2012 International Summer School on AstroComputing

2012 International Summer School on AstroComputing
July 9-20, 2012 – La Jolla, California

Applications are being accepted to the 2012 UC-HiPACC International Summer School on AstroComputing. The event focuses on AstroInformatics and will be held at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), University of California (UC) San Diego.

As in the UC-HiPACC summer schools on galaxy simulations in 2010 and on explosive astrophysics in 2011, all students will get accounts on a powerful supercomputer on which the lecturers will put relevant codes and sample inputs and outputs, and there will be workshops each afternoon in which the students can learn how to use these tools.  For the 2012 summer school on AstroInformatics, all students will have accounts on the new Gordon data-centric supercomputer at SDSC, and many relevant astronomical datasets and simulation outputs will be put on Gordon's massive FLASH memory for the use of the students.

The deadline for application is March 16, 2012.
