Emmy Winner Steven Reiner Scheduled to Speak at XSEDE12

XSEDE12, the annual conference of the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), begins Monday, July 16, at the InterContinental Chicago. The conference includes a full day of tutorials followed by a technical program with sessions on Science, Software & Software Engineering, Technology, and Education/Outreach/Training sessions, and Student Day on Wednesday. XSEDE12 runs through Thursday, July 19.

Steven Reiner, Emmy Award-winning former producer for "60 Minutes" and current associate professor of broadcast journalism at Stony Brook University, will address the conference attendees on July 19 during the awards luncheon. Reiner will close out the conference with a discussion of why it is important for scientists and researchers to make sure the public understands who they are and what they do, as well as how those researchers can accomplish this.
 
XSEDE12 is being presented in cooperation with ACM SIGAPP.
