The Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) is the most advanced, powerful, and robust collection of integrated advanced digital resources and services in the world. XSEDE accelerates open scientific discovery by enhancing the productivity of researchers, engineers, and scholars and making advanced digital resources easier to use.

Scientists and engineers around the world use these resources and services – things like supercomputers, collections of data, and new tools – to make our lives healthier, safer, and better. XSEDE staff will be on hand to assist people with using these resources and services.

XSEDE staff will be at the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel on September 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on The George Washington University’s Foggy Bottom Campus on September 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise awareness of the range of resources and services available to faculty, researchers, staff and students to advance scientific discovery. The schedule of events is below:

 9-9:45 a.m.    Overview of XSEDE resources and services (Scott Lathrop)
 9:45-10:30 a.m.    New user training (Jay Alameda)
 10:30-10:45 a.m.    Break
 10:45-Noon    Campus Bridging (Jim Ferguson and Marcus Alfred)
 Noon-1 p.m.    Lunch
 1-1:45 p.m.    Extended Collaborative Support Services (ECSS) and Science success (John Cazes)
 1:45-3 p.m.    Introduction to the Intel Xeon Phi on Stampede (John Cazes)
