On May 1, Niall Gaffney joined TACC to lead and expand efforts in data intensive computing. Gaffney, a technologist with an astronomy background, will manage the center's "Big Data" strategy, which includes storage and storage systems; collections; data analytics; and architectures for data driven science and data intensive computing.
