XSEDE Outreach Partners Support Travel to the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) 2012 National Conference

XSEDE Outreach Partners, the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), Rice University, and SURA, are providing a travel award to Subodh K. Singh, Ph.D., PE of Sinte Gleska University (http://www.sintegleska.edu) and his student to participate in the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) 2012 National Conference being held November 1-3, 2012 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Dr. Singh is a member of the XSEDE Minority Faculty Council, which provides guidance to XSEDE on education and outreach programs for underrepresented groups. Sinte Gleska University is the nation’s only four-year tribal college. Dr. Singh will be making a presentation at the conference on High Performance Computing and his student, Orlana Schmidt, is participating with a poster presentation on her environmental science research project.  Their participation in the conference supports XSEDE  goals for outreach to underrepresented groups and presents an opportunity to reach out to American Indian Science and Engineering students and faculty.

SURA is providing the faculty travel support to Dr. Singh. PSC and Rice University are jointly providing student travel support for Orlana Schmidt.
