Chair's Dinner, USS Midway

The USS Midway, docked in San Diego Harbor, is the destination for an evening reception with hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and docent tours of the decommissioned aircraft carrier from 7 to 10 pm on Tuesday, July 23. The Chair's Dinner is hosted by XSEDE13 General Chair Nancy Wilkins-Diehr and is sponsored by Intel, an XSEDE13 Platinum Sponsor.

If you would like to attend this special event, please include registration for yourself (and guests) when you register for XSEDE13. Guests also can take part in a tour led by one of the carrier's knowledgeable docents.

NOTES:

• The event will be on the deck of the aircraft carrier, and evening temperatures in San Diego can be cool. Visitors are encouraged to bring sweaters or light jackets.
• Comfortable shoes with non-skid soles (no spike heels) are strongly recommended.
• The USS Midway Museum is a non-smoking facility.
• Handicapped elevator access is available from Navy Pier to the Hangar Deck and from the Hangar Deck to the Flight Deck. Handicap access is also available from the Hangar Deck to portions of the Mess Deck. For all other guests, access from Navy Pier to the Hangar Deck includes approximately two flights of stairs and one large flight of stairs between the Hangar Deck and Flight Deck.
