In coordination with the ACCESS team, XSEDE has paused the processing of Startup, Education, and other allocation requests from August 17-31. This pause will ensure that no requests are lost while we are making infrastructure updates behind the scenes and handing things over to ACCESS. If you have questions, contact help@xsede.org. The ACCESS team will resume taking allocation requests on September 1 via https://access-ci.org/.

The discussion forums in the XSEDE User Portal are for users to share experiences, questions, and comments with other users and XSEDE staff. Quickstart tutorial for Forge?

Hi, I recently received an allocation on the new Forge GPU cluster. I can't seem to find a user's guide for that cluster, however.

I'm looking for information on how the batch queue system works, what filesystems I should use for programs vs. data, and how the CUDA device allocation works for batch jobs.

Any pointers?

Stanley,

I will inquire as to why this page does not seem to be available in the portal. In the meantime, please see the following page:

Hi Stanley,

In XSEDE we strive to have user documentation available as soon as systems go online and user guides use a template to ensure that they are consistent across all XSEDE systems. Unfortunately with Forge we are still waiting on the XSEDE user guide from the Forge team but expect to have it in our hands very soon. For now you can access the local user guide on the NCSA site but I will update this thread when the user guide has been added to the portal. Thank you for your time and feedback.
