I have a multi-threaded Java app I wish to profile. I am particularly interested in cache misses and the high-level data access causing the misses.

I only have access to Steele and am therefore limited to its tool set.

Is there an application or utility installed on Steele (or one that I can install without sudo) that will help me understand how the CPU caches affect my application's performance.

Regards,
Aaron
