    <summary type="html">Hello, I am a new user on XSEDE.   I would like to work with a large data set.  How do I get a folder within /scratch ?    &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, I would like to use matlab.   After using module load matlab/2015b and typing matlab, I receive the following error  &amp;#034;Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.&lt;br /&gt;Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.&amp;#034;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How do I resolve this and get going with matlab?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With thanks!</summary>
