Please note that the PI must be based in the U.S. and be an active member of the allocation (i.e. the PI can’t serve as a proxy for the grad student).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 8.6 of the Allocation Policies (found here: https://portal.xsede.org/allocations/policies#86)  state: “XSEDE will not provide an allocation to a PI that does not have a substantive role in the project; that is the PI may not simply serve as a proxy for a foreign researcher.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have any other questions related to allocations, please submit a ticket to help@xsede.org. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Best,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stephen Deems&lt;br /&gt;XSEDE Allocations</summary>

    <summary type="html">Sridhar,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You will want to read over the XSEDE Allocations page about Research allocations:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;https://portal.xsede.org/allocations/research&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There you will want to look at the eligibility section and if you are eligible to be the PI then you can be the lead PI otherwise someone from your research group who is eligible can be the PI and you can be an Allocations Manager.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ken Hackworth&lt;br /&gt;XSEDE Allocations</summary>

    <summary type="html">Hello,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I want to request for a Research Allocation.  I am collaborating (as collaborator) in a research project by another PI.  I will be conducting computational analysis in this project and would like to use XSEDE resources for this purpose.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wanted to know what should I mention as my role, in the research allocation application.&lt;br /&gt;Should I mention myself as &amp;#034;Allocation Manager&amp;#034;, or PI or Co-PI. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, is it necessary to include the PI of the project, even if he/she doesn&amp;#039;t actually use the XSEDE resources?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thank you,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sridhar</summary>
